The Social Jazz goes to Manchester Jazz Festival

I'm really pleased to let you know that Manchester Jazz Festival have invited me to speak at this year's Festival, which starts on Friday 13th July.

The free off-stage event is on Tuesday 17th July at 12.45pm and is aimed at professional jazz musicians who have at least 2 years' experience of a career in live performance, band/project leadership, composition, promotion or other related activity.

The afternoon will include talks by the Arts Council for England, PRS for Music Foundation, the Musicians' Union and Jazz North and Jazz Yorkshire, as well as practical advice from the Festival's Artistic Director, Steve Mead and networking opportunities.

I'll be sharing a little of what I've learned about how jazz musicians can promote themselves to venues and audiences, talking about the support I can provide and hopefully getting some ideas and feedback about PR, promotion and networking workshops for jazz musicians.

Places are limited and you need to register by 10th July, so take a look at the event listing on the Manchester Jazz Festival website and be sure to come and say hello!
